And with it being half term, what better time to explore the great outdoors on your doorstep? Below we've rounded up some of the best places to get some fresh air around Leeds. Remember, due to lockdown restrictions, you can only exercise with your household (or support bubble) or one other person (in which case you should stay two metres apart). Exercise should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area.
1. Meanwood Valley Trail
The Meanwood Valley Trail is seven mile linear walk runs from Woodhouse Moor, along the Meanwood Valley through to Breary Marsh, next to Golden Acre Park. Meandering through pretty woodland along a relatively flat route, it is fit for all abilities.
2. Tong and Fulneck Circular
This five mile circular route straddles the boundary of Leeds and Bradford, travelling from Tong Hall along the bridleways of Pudsey Beck and Tyersal Beck, before looping back through Black Carr Woods. Photo: Roger Ratcliffe
3. Eccup Reservoir
Eccup Reservoir offers beautiful views across the water. You can walk around the edge of the reservoir, soaking up the splendid scenery as you do so.
4. Rothwell Country Park
Providing a peaceful spot away from the centre of Leeds, this 2.8 mile circular loop of Rothwell Country Park is a popular haunt among walkers and runners, and is well suited for families with little ones as it is relatively short and flat. Photo: Mick Kale
5. Bramhope Circular Walk

6. Post Hill
Nestled between Pudsey and Farnley, this nature trail offers spectacular views across west Leeds from its woodland paths where the overhanging trees open up, making the climb to the top of Post Hill well worth the effort.
