A quiet corner of Farsley is rapidly becoming a hotbed of budding TV talent. Click here to find out why.
Media-savvy pupils at Farsley Springbank Junior School have started running their own station, Springbank TV.

The station, which broadcasts to each pupil via their own interactive whiteboard, is scripted, produced and presented exclusively by the children themselves.

Coun Richard Harker (Lib Dem, Moortown), Leeds City Council executive board member for education, said: "Springbank TV is a fantastic idea. The children are involved in every aspect of the broadcasting process from the initial ideas stage to filming and presenting.

"The media industry offers some fantastic career opportunities to young people, but competition for places is fierce. Something like Springbank TV gives children a taste of the cut and thrust of the newsroom and develops skills that will help them in later life."
