Farsley pupils spruce up the village

Youngsters from a Farsley school have been busy sprucing up one of the village's main streets.

Children in year five at Farsley Springbank made hanging baskets for the shops and businesses along Farsley Town Street.

The school is hoping that the community will come together in the autumn for a big planting day where businesses can work with children to plant the baskets with winter-flowering plants.

The school has also been involved with clearing in the ginnels in the village and also with the Community Cohesion Group that runs in conjunction with the Live at Home Scheme.

Headteacher, Juliet Agar, told Farsley Today: "We take our community projects seriously and it has been a pleasure to see the children enjoying working with local people of all ages."
