In Leeds We Trust: Pablo Hernandez a fitting first subject for new Leeds United mural project
There’s something very satisfying about a 1-0 victory in a game played by two top-class teams intent on winning through attack-minded football.
The only reason that the scoreline wasn’t a lot higher was because both goalkeepers played brilliantly.

They both accepted the result was a fair one and, if the overwhelming majority of social media traffic is anything to go by, both sets of fans thought it was a thoroughly entertaining game and one which we deserved to win.
The victory was courtesy of Raphinha’s first ever goal for the club, which was a 25-yard scorcher!
But the other star of the show was Kalvin Phillips, who won our Man of the Match award with a massive 71 per cent of the votes by our fanbase. This was quite possibly his finest all-round performance for Leeds United, as was demonstrated by his brilliant statistics.

The only thing he didn’t do was score a goal (sorry Graeme Sourness).
One player who didn’t feature at Everton was our Spanish wizard, Pablo Hernandez, who is currently injured with a muscular problem.
We all know how important his role was in getting Leeds United back into the Premier League.

How fitting it is that the first one to be completed is one of Pablo and his iconic celebration of his last-minute goal away at Swansea towards the end of last season.
The goal was to many fans the moment where we knew that we’d get one of the automatic promotion spots.
We were delighted on Thursday to unveil the mural in all its glory on the side of the Duck & Drake pub on Kirkgate by Leeds Market.

Hide AdA massive thank you from the Trust to the Leeds-based artist Adam Duffield, who did this in his spare time.
Also, to RIM Scaffolding Leeds Ltd, who kindly donated their scaffolding to enable Adam to reach so high on the wall with his artwork.
And finally, to all of those Leeds United fans who provided contributions to make it happen.
Adam Duffield said “Being from Leeds and a lifelong Leeds fan, painting this historic moment was an absolute honour and I hope we’ve done Pablo proud.”
