Yorkshire man charged with terrorism offences after street disturbance

He has been charged with two offences of encouraging terrorism, contrary to Section 1 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
He is to appear in custody at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Thursday, according to Counter Terrorism Policing North East and Humberside Police who said they were not releasing his name ahead of the hearing.

Hide AdThe man was held on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon on Saturday morning.
He was further arrested on suspicion of offences under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act that evening.
Chief Superintendent Scott Young, of Humberside Police, said: "The detention, subsequent charging and remand of a man following his arrest on Cheadle Close, Hull, should provide reassurance for the local community.
"We continue to believe this to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public and thank the local residents for their support throughout."
