Armed police deployed in Leeds after man chased and gun fired as "loud bangs" heard

Shortly after midnight in the early hours of this morning (June 10), police received a report of three young men seen chasing another man.
Loud bangs were also heard in the vicinity of Cherry Row, Burmantofts.

Hide AdArmed officers were deployed to the scene and blank shell cases were recovered after a gun had been discharged.
A scene remains in place on the road to undergo forensic examination and specialist searches.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspects and the victim.
Detective Inspector Vicky Alexander, of Leeds District CID, said: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries to identify those involved and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any part of the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation.
