There were miles of bright smiles in Farsley when children were invited to a funday at their local dental surgery.
The day of holiday activities at Farsley Dental Practice aimed to encourage youngsters to take care of their teeth – and to not be scared of going to the dentist!

It was also a chance for staff to raise money for local charity the Callum Johnston Scholarship Fund.

Almost 100 children from local schools flocked to the funday.

They were given routine check ups and went away with 'brushing packs' as a memento of the day.

The children also had the chance to take part in activities like face painting and were given demonstrations on how to look after their teeth.

Dental nurse and oral health educator Fay Denton, who organised the day, said : "It was a hectic day and we had a really good turnout. The children enjoyed themsleves and were really responsive"

She added that far from being scared of getting into the dentist's chair, the youngsters loved the experience.
