Farsley public toilets: Anti-social behaviour forces closure
Farsley's public toilets have been closed after being blighted by anti-social behaviour.
It is understood those toilets on Town Street had become popular with men seeking sex with other men.
A Leeds City Council spokesman said: "There were complaints about them becoming a venue for inappropriate adult behaviour."
Resident Duncan Evans said he had suspected the toilets were being used for drug dealing.
He agreed with the need for action – but queried whether security could have been stepped up instead.
"I think it would have been a more positive approach to have updated them and then put a two pence charging machine on the door. That would have kept any troublemakers out."
The closure of the conveniences in Farsley has taken the number of public toilets in the city to just 21.
