A Farsley fundraiser who has spent the last 16 years raising money to help find a cure for meningitis has added more funds to charity.
Bob Birdsall has helped Meningitis UK raise almost £1.5m with sponsored walks and boosted his total by holding a charity night in memory of his daughter in April.

As previously reported in the Pudsey Times, Rosslyn was only 15-years-old when she suddenly died from the disease in 1992.

Mr Birdsall, a security officer at Bradford University, became involved with the charity when he was helped through counselling by the charity's chief executive, Steve Dayman, who lost his own son to the disease.

"I would also like to thank everyone that turned up to the night as there were about 200 people there in total and even some of Rosslyn's old school friends were there.

"We are hoping to try and organise a fund-raising event once a year."
