Dave Syers lit the firework to rocket Farsley Celtic up the table with a 1-0 victory over Solihull Moors at Throstle Nest.
Syers' 29th minute close-range strike was all the Celts needed to secure the precious three points, although they survived a few scares in the closing stages.

The win lifted Celtic up to 14th on the ladder, but yesterday's 1-1 draw between Hyde and Northwich saw both clubs leapfrog Farsley in the standings.

But the main thing as far as Farsley boss Neil Parsley was concerned was another win and a clean sheet into the bargain, although he was the first to admit the game had not been pretty.

"It was hard-fought to say the least," he said.

"We didn't get our just rewards against Corby and Eastwood but this afternoon, it was battling and an ugly three points.

"However, a very important three points. There weren't many chances in the game, we didn't have many and they didn't.
Important

"I thought Piotr Skiba played really well along with Mark Jackson who marshalled the defence really well.

"All-in-all it was backs-to-the-wall but it was important because we have gone above them in the table."

The only goal of the game was the only notable moment of an otherwise dull first 45 minutes.

Gareth Grant won the ball back and held-off the Solihull defender – enabling Syers to fire home from six yards.
That was Farsley's main effort on goal in the game and it allowed the visitors back into the game.

And for a few seconds in the 78th minutes, Celtic hearts were in mouths, as it looked like Solihull had equalised.

Striker Jake Edwards' shot was spectacularly saved by Skiba and the follow-up was finished by Ryan Beswick who wheeled away to celebrate.
However, luck was on Farsley's side as the assistant referee had his flag up for offside.

The Celts' held-on for the vital win to move out of the relegation zone and above Solihull.

Next week, Farsley take a break from the rigours of the league and play Droylsden in the FA Trophy at Throstle Nest.
