Boss Neil Parsley was still pleased with Farsley Celtic's display despite his side falling to a 2-1 defeat at Eastwood Town after a poor opening 45 minutes.
Inspirational captain Dominic Krief gave the Celts a glimmer of hope with his 54th-minute volley.

Although disappointed with defeat, Parsley was happy with his side's response after the break.
"The cliché, a game of two halves springs to mind," said the Farsley manager.
"I thought they were the better side first half and we were the better side in the second half.
"I didn't think we defended the slope very well in the first half.
Determined
"But to go 2-0 down on the stroke of half-time to a team with play-off aspirations and dominate the second half will do for me.
"It wasn't to be for us but we do need to make sure we don't give sides of Eastwood's stature and league placing, a 2-0 head start."
The Celts met an Eastwood side determined to prove their quality to the crowd due to being transfer listed last week, following a 5-1 hammering at Southport.
Farsley started brightly, creating chances and causing problems for the Eastwood backline.
Roy Stamer saw a shot dangerously deflect wide and then Dave Syers' 30-yard drive was beaten clear by Eastwood keeper Jan Budtz.
Knox put Eastwood ahead on the half-hour mark – his deflected 18-yard shot having enough power to beat Farsley keeper Piotr Skiba.
The lead was doubled on the stroke of half time as Bailey cut inside and fired the ball into the bottom corner past a helpless Skiba.
Before the whistle was blown, leading scorer Lee Ellington fired just wide.
All seemed lost for Farsley but manager Parsley must have given a rousing team talk as his side came out like a team possessed.
Josh Radcliffe had an effort cleared off the line and then Stamer's goal-bound header was somehow miraculously palmed clear by Eastwood keeper Budtz.
Krief then struck from Ellington's cross and the 26-year-old was on hand to volley the ball past Budtz from close range.
Farsley pressed for the equaliser, Stamer saw one shot flash wide and another fly over either side of the hour mark.
Five minutes later, Gareth Grant supplied Ellington who curled a shot
just wide. Eastwood held-on but Farsley suffered two blows late-on in the game.
Halt
Midfielders Matty Young and Krief were both cautioned – their fifths of the campaign, ruling them both out of the FA Trophy tie with Droylsden in two weeks' time.
Farsley, who are now without a league win in three games, host Solihull Moors at Throstle Nest on Saturday, looking to halt the run.
