Leeds United' s victory against Manchester City at Maine Road in January 2001 was the club's first Premiership win on the road in more than four months. Strikes from Eirik Bakke, Lee Bowyer and a late brace from substitute Robbie Keane ensured the three points headed back over the Pennines. The Whites had been sitting six points off the drop zone before kick off. They pushed on and finished the season in fourth position, just a point behind Liverpool in third.
