There have been four further confirmed coronavirus deaths in Leeds hospitals, according to the latest figures.

Figures released by NHS England on Tuesday, May 12 record four confirmed new deaths under the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

This data reflects deaths from the latest reporting period which is 5pm on Monday, May 11.

Two people died on Wednesday, April 29, one person died on Sunday, April 26 and another died on Monday, April 27.

This brings the number of Covid-19 deaths in the city's hospitals to 279.

Across Yorkshire, a further 55 coronavirus deaths have been confirmed in hospitals.

This brings the total number of deaths in hospitals in the region to 2,159.
