Nationally, the latest figures (Wednesday, March 11) show that 382 people are now confirmed to have Covid-19 in the UK - up from 319 the day before - and six people have died in British hospitals.

The first two people in Leeds to test positive for coronavirus became infected while travelling to Iran, officials confirmed on Sunday, March 1.

Hide AdA third person was confirmed as positive for the virus on Sunday, March 8. It is not known how they contracted the virus.
The two new confirmed cases were confirmed on Tuesday, March 9.
Health authorities will not elaborate further on the precise locations of confirmed cases.

What does the NHS in Leeds say?
Leeds Teaching Hospitals has reassured patients that measures have been introduced to protect patients and staff in a message on the trust's website.

Hide AdThe trust said last week: "The NHS in Leeds and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases.
"The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal."
Isolation pods have now been introduced at Leeds General Infirmary, St James's Hospital and Wharfedale Hospital to treat coronavirus patients.
The pods are intended to prevent the spread of the virus should further outbreaks occur in Leeds.
