When the chips are down Farsley Celtic usually deliver – and boss John Deacey is hoping that proves to be the case again this evening.

When Celtic were the victims of a gross miscarriage of justice which saw them stripped of the UniBond League title in 2005, they bounced back to claim their rightful promotion via the play-offs 12 months later.

And when they looked dead and buried in last season's Conference North play-off final, they came back not once but twice in
the last 11 minutes to secure a 4-3 win over Hinckley United and promotion to the Conference for the first time in their history.

No-one gave the Celts a prayer of staying there – they were immediately installed as the bookmakers' overwhelming favourites to go back down – and
those who bet against it are on shakey ground.

But a side who are staring at relegation from the Blue Square Premier travel to York City tonight with Deacey urging them
to pull off a victory which would put everything back in the balance.

Deacey said: "We have got to treat this like a play-off final. This is a cup final for us and then we
have another one in four days' time against Grays.

"We have two cup finals and generally, in big games, when we have had to producewehave done and I am hoping that proves to be the case again.

"There is no room for error now. We are in the relegation zone and we have got to dig in. It doesn't matter who you are – the physio, the manager, the centre forward, the goalkeeper – it is all hands to the pump.

"We have been dealt some bad cards of late, and the injury situation has absolutely killed us, but we have got to keep going and we have got to believe becausewearestill in there with a chance."

A 2-0 home defeat to Forest Green on Saturday plunged a Celtic side who looked to be out of the mire at the start of the month back into the relegation zone.

Deacey's men have suffered four straight defeats since Craig Bentham returned to Bradford City following his successful loan spell on April 5 and another this evening, combined with wins for Northwich and Halifax, would condemn them to the drop.

They have suffered the full effects of an injury crisis which has seen defenders Amjad Iqbal (hamstring), Georges Santos (thigh), Mark Jackson (ankle), Ryan Serrant (ankle) and Stephen Downes (gashed knee) struck down this month.

Dominic Krief has also been effected, while fellow- midfielder James Knowles has missed the last two matches through suspension.

But Deacey is hoping he will be able to pick from near fullstrength tonight, while Celtic can also take heart from the remaining fixture schedule.

While Farsley follow up tonight's match with a home game against Grays, fifth-bottom Altrincham face a tough trip on Saturday to a Weymouth side – at champions Aldershot this
evening – who also need points to ensure their survival.

Halifax, who are in the bottom four along with Farsley, go to Crawley tonight before hosting a Stevenage side who need points to keep their play-off hopes alive.

And Northwich, who are just two points clear of Farsley and Halifax, travel to Stevenage this evening before rounding-off against a Cambridge side who are also chasing a top-five spot.

Deacey said: "We have maybe got the best games to finish with. The others have got really, really hard matches, but we have to produce the results and the performancesnowwhich is something we haven't done in the last couple of games.

"On Saturday it just didn't happen for us, we gave away a slack goal and never really recovered. But we can't dwell on that. It's about York now, getting the win, and giving ourselves a fighting chance for Saturday.

"It's going to be a hard game against York because they are not just going to roll over. It's a derbyand local pride is at stake. They
have already beaten us twice this season so we know we are in for a hard battle.

"But we have got to produce now – and we have got to go there with the right attitude.

"We do need Farsley's renowned fighting spirit now, but we need to calm down a bit and have a bit of composure as well.

"We just need to stay in the game as long as we can and then try and take control. And if we do go behind, we have got to believe we can come back. It is still in our hands, we still have a great chance, but it is now or never."

Jackson and Santos both returned to training yesterdayand could figure this evening, while Iqbal – who did play on Saturday – is nearing 100 per cent fitness.

Knowles is available again following his suspension for his red card against Oxford 10 days ago. York boss Colin Walker will select from the same squad that
earned a creditable 0-0 draw at Torquay on Saturday – and the Yorkshireman warned there will be no county loyalty at stake.

He said: "It would be nice to finish on a high and that's what we want to do. If that relegates Farsley it's not nice but we have got to be professional."
