Farsley Celtic Vixens U-11 girls 1
Date: Saturday, November 28
Competition: West Riding Girls Football League, First Division
Farsley took an early lead and will have been disappointed to come away with only a point after failing to convert possession and chances into more goals.
The opening goal came on five minutes. Katie Clark made a great run forward and after a one-two with Lucy Donnelly sent in a cross for Katie Leeming to put past the keeper for her 15th of the season.
Olivia Hellas had a shot turned away for a corner before Katie Leeming had another effort saved.
Throughout the match Wigton Moor left a striker up front -- right up front, just a few yards in front of the Farsley goal -- but she was marked out of the game in turns by Bethany Lewis and Chloe Watson, who along with Lauren Richardson, put in some great work in defence.
The Vixens' back line kept Wigton Moor at bay for most of the half though keeper Megi Moo had to make two good saves just before the break.
Wigton Moor equalised just after half-time but Farsley nearly restored their lead shortly after following a good move involving the two Katies, Lucy and Dani Horner which ended with the ball going just wide.
In the closing stages Chloe Stratton forced a corner after a great run down the left and Hannah Playford also had a shot saved but Farsley couldn't find a winner.
