A village football team in Africa will soon have a smart new look thanks to the generosity of Farsley Celtic's kit supplier.
The YEP revealed last month how the Golden Boys side in Gambia had been bought by Leeds man Peter Smith.

Peter went public with his unlikely purchase in the hope of attracting potential sponsors and other support for his club.

And now Sports Bulk Suppliers has answered the 45-year-old former council employee's appeal for help.

The official suppliers of Farsley Celtic's kit has donated a full set of the non-league club's current home strip to the Golden Boys.

Peter today praised the firm and the Blue Square Premier club for their backing.

He told the YEP: "It's a fantastic gesture – the kit will come in incredibly handy."

Peter paid just £10 to take over the Golden Boys after meeting some of their players during a holiday to Gambia's Kotu resort.

He travels to the country twice a year to see how they are doing and at other times keeps up to date with their progress via e-mails from their coach.
