Long-term Celts target Lee Ellington put pen-to-paper and joins from Stalybridge Celtic.

The striker is an exciting capture for the club and Parsley agrees.

In four years at Bowler Fold, Ellington struck 75 times in 188 games.

"We agreed terms with Lee at the back end of last week and tonight he came down and signed so I'm absolutely delighted," Parsley said.

"Lee's a proven goalscorer and it's a fresh challenge for him and that's important.

"We've signed Lee to come here and score goals."

Dave Syers signed from Harrogate Town and his capture will have eagle-eyed supporters looking through the record books.

Syers is also Farsley Cricket club's captain in the Bradford League.

Of the signing, Parsley said: "We managed to secure his services, beating competition from Guiseley, Harrogate and Halifax.

"He's a versatile player and he wants to play in midfield and his desire fits in with the role I had for him.

"He brings athleticism, youthfulness along with a drive and his fair share of goals so he will be a good asset for us.

"There's also a bit of digging about for someone to do to find out whether someone has played for both, I'm sure there's someone."

Finally, released York City winger Liam Shepherd signed forms and Parsley says he is one to watch.

"Young Liam comes with a good pedigree but hasn't played a lot and he needs to," Parsley said.

"I think we can offer Liam that opportunity, he's very quick and direct so I think the spectators will be excited by that.
