Two goals from striker Dani Horner and a Katie Leeming penalty did the damage while brave goalkeeping by Girl of the Match Megi Moo stopped the Mavericks getting back into the match.

Mapplewell started strongly, putting the Vixens under early pressure.
But it was Farsley who took the lead in the third minute with their first attack.

Katie picked up the ball in her own half and after a strong run forward played it through to Dani who made it 1-0 with a cool finish.
The Vixens pressed forward for a second but after nine minutes were stung by a counter-attack.

A Mapplewell defensive clearance sent their striker clear and she gave Megi no chance with her finish.

Chloe Watson and Bethany Lewis made good tackles in defence to keep the Vixens on level terms and there was some fine work in midfield from Lucy Donnelly, Charlotte Green and Megan Flaherty.

Katie was proving a real handful and went on a powerful run from her own half before forcing a corner. Dani sent over the corner-kick but the ball was cleared and only a last ditch tackle from Chloe denied Mapplewell another chance.

It was end-to-end stuff but in the 16th minute the Vixens were in front again.

Lucy burst into the penalty area but her speed and skill proved too much for the Mavericks and a desperate lunge brought her down for a penalty.

Katie made no mistake from the spot, firing her penalty low into the right-hand corner to make it 2-1.

As half-time approached Mapplewell pressed for a second equaliser and had a corner cleared by Bethany, a shot saved by Megi and a promising attack halted by another superb tackle from Chloe.

After the break the Vixens varied their tactics as they went in search of a decisive third goal.

Bethany won the ball in defence and cleared up the line to Megan. She took it up the left wing before sending in a cross for Dani in the box but the ball was cleared.

A minute later Megi's superb long kick from her area was neatly brought under control by Katie. She took it to the edge of the Mapplewell area only to see her shot well saved by the keeper.

Six minutes into the second half the Vixens went further ahead when the ball was played forward to Dani who grabbed her second with a fine finish.

As the game wore on Mapplewell tried to claw their way back into it but the Vixens stood firm.

Well organised walls ensured two free-kicks from the edge of the area came to nothing for Mapplewell and Megi made a series of brave saves at the feet of advancing Mavericks, holding on to the ball despite attempts to kick it out of her hands.

The Vixens now have a three-week break as they prepare for the big derby match when they will be hoping to end Farsley Celtic Foxes' 100 per cent record.
