The emphasis on keeping possession was really important and Farsley stroked the ball around beautifully creating several good chances, particularly with Harry Stirk and Mark Taylor dominating the left side of the park.

After another break on the left, Farsley forced a corner and a vicious inswinger was deflected past the keeper by an Amaranth defender for 0-1.

Jamie Hall crashed a shot just wide and Harry Stirk headed against the bar but Farsley couldn't increase their lead before the break.

The second half was dominated by Farsley and after another Harry Stirk shot was cleared of the line, and a missed Farsley penalty, the reliable Jack Reed smacked home the second to make it 0-2 to Farsley.

Amaranth finally responded and some fine defending by Luke Kitson and Liam Strangeway kept Amaranth out until the last kick of the game when Amaranth scored a consolation goal.

The whole team were named as men of the match for an heroic effort.
