Farsley skipper Syers said: "There's no point beating Woodlands away and then losing to Hanging Heaton the week after, who are bottom of the table.
"It would be a case of one step forwards, two steps back.
"But if we get a good result, it could give us a bit more freedom for our games with East Bierley and Pudsey Congs – who are two of the powerhouse sides."
